Mr. Edward P. McKinney
Mr. McKinney is the school psychologist for Thomas Edison, J.E. Moss Elementary, and Apollo Middle School. Mr. McKinney earned his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Pin Bluff ('94), his M.A. in School Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University ('96), as well as his Ed.S. in School Psychology and Curriculum and Instruction from MTSU ('97).
Mr. McKinney has been working 11 years as a school psychologist for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. His primary duties include consultation and the assessment of psychologically-based disabilites that impact learning, such as learning disabilities, mental retardation, autism, ADHD, and intellectual giftedness.
During his tenure, he has enjoyed providing training for the Psychology/Special Education Departments. Some of the training sessions included the revised Tennessee 2002 Learning Disabled Standards, addressing the overrepresenttion of African-Americans in Special Education, and the new Response to Intervention (R.T.I.) concept.
Mr. McKinney is married to Mrs. LaDon McKinney.
